Introduction to Video Game Studies – Early Attempt

For this syllabus, students will be given a curriculum of gameplay analysis, video game structurization, the history of video game culture or ideas, and much more. This undergraduate curriculum course will surround those who are either new or veterans of video game culture which will combine both criteria learning and outside learning. For this course, the goal is to not only learn the political side, gameplay storyboarding, etc. but to challenge existing ideas that the student might already have. In combination with theoretical examples, students are expected to play video games and read or watch various chapters or articles pertaining to that week’s unit.
